Eclipsed Heart

In the twilight of a hidden sun,
Love, a tender warmth, begun,
Yet shadows crept, a sombre art,
Eclipsed the glow within the heart.

A gentle touch, now veiled by night,
Despair’s dark shroud obscures the light,
Where once the soul did dance and sigh,
Now silent whispers falter, die.

In the penumbra, hope does cling,
To memories of love’s gentle spring,
Yet in the dark, a tear does start,
A testament to an eclipsed heart.
